Antes de que me decidiera a tomar Champix, busqué información de muchos métodos para dejar de fumar: reemplazo de nicotina (parches, chicles, inhalador), antidepresivos (bupropión) y por casualidad también llegué a un método de hipnosis (junto con psicoterapia) llamado easy way, creado por Allen Carr, el cual dice que con una sola sesión (más 2 de refuerzo si fueran necesario) dejas de fumar para toda la vida.
Es el autor del best seller Easy way to Stop Smoking (traducción chafa al español: Es fácil dejar de fumar, si sabes cómo), donde explica el método para dejar de fumar sin sufrir y que al terminar el libro serás un feliz ex-fumador.
Hay testimonios de personas que dejan de fumar con el libro (o en este caso también con el DVD), pero creo que lo importante de las charlas y la hipnoterapia es, en esencia, la presencia de la persona.
El libro es un resumen de las sesiones presenciales, y el DVD podría decirse que es el resumen del libro. Como todo buen mexicano, antes de leer el libro bajé la película, la vi un día antes de que empezara a tomar Champix, para ver si podía ahorrarme todo el tratamiento de Champix, pero creo que no me funcionó, probablemente ya estaba tan mentalizado a tomar Champix que cuando termine de ver la película lo primero que hice fue fumarme un cigarro, no quiero decir que no sirva, pero siempre apuesto por años de investigación médica-científica, antes de cualquier otra alternativa.
Ahorita me encuentro leyendo el libro, pienso acabarlo el día en que me fume mi último cigarro, espero subirlo el lunes que viene para que le den una hojeada. La verdad tanto la película, y lo que llevo del libro, están muy interesantes.
